The DARK MATTER EP CD Jacket is hand crafted by Stephanie Puchala, the vocalist for The Sharpest Sword, from textured card stock and vinyl stickers. We feel that hand crafting the cases for the CDs offers a more intimate and direct connection with our listeners, while at the same time, the cases are more interesting than the standard jewel case and are also more environmentally friendly.

Bio:
We are Legion! We are one from many... We don''t stick to one genre, but as we traverse the daily flavors that come to us, we retain a distinct style and sound. We have incorporated many experimental components into our sound through biotechnological feedback looping and sampling and in some sense we are into producing and engineering just as much as playing. We listen to everything from Ladytron to Disco to DnB and Tool and back again. Some of our material is avant-garde, but remains in an approachable format.
Steph is the mastermind behind the vocals for this project and brings a uniquely visceral vocal quality to our work that speaks in metaphors and of a social paradox. An avid qigong and yoga practitioner, she will talk your ear off about the subject of energy (qi) and its profound influence on life and existence. When not writing music, Steph likes to channel her creative energy into metal, particularly silver, to create unique jewelry for herself and her friends. Steph also plays the Jazz Flute (Think Anchorman Style) and piano and is currently teaching herself to play the bass guitar.
Daniel, the force behind the Drums, Synthesizers, Turntable, and Sampling is more a machine than a man and alternates between a Roland electronic Kit and Tama Starclassic Maple Kit depending on how much diversity a particular track demands. We use a variety of Korg, Roland, Akai, Pioneer and Alesis components.
Steph and Daniel met while in High School, about 10 years ago, but did not decide to combine their musical talents until the spring of 2008. The results of their collaboration are unexpectedly refreshing, if not hard to categorize, songs that are heavily influenced by the duo''s extremely diverse musical tastes. The 5-track "Dark Matter EP" is the first official release from The Sharpest Sword.
