Formed in Venice Beach in 2000 by Michael Jost (guitar) and dynamic vocalist Nia Mondy, the band has been spreading their hypnotic brand of improvised rock and soul all over Southern California at such legendary venues as the House of Blues, Key Club, the Roxy and the Viper Room. Currently SugarBitch features Steve Andino on bass and Chris de Lisa on drums.
Striving to save the world from another era of flash in the pan teen queens and over hyped rock/rap screamers, SugarBitch is ready not just to take on the scene, but change it completely. Bringing in elements of Miles Davis, Jimi Hendrix, Parlament, James Brown and Billie Holiday and combining it with the pure rock of Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin plus SugarBitch reaches for the sky by infusing the psychedelic elements of such bands as Pink Floyd and The Beatles.
