Phillip Grimes was born December 2nd, 1970 and raised in the community of Little Bay Islands,Newfoundland,Canada where he spent his childhood. His parents Beatrice and Theodore Grimes have been the backbone of Phillip''s singing career since childhood. Phillip grew up with music all around him: his father played a wide variety of musical instruments such as accordion, guitar, mouth organ, and much more, and his sister sang and played guitar. He is the younger of two children, Kimberly and Phillip.
Phillip grew up with strong ties to the Salvation Army church playing steel guitar, accordion, drums, and piano. It was in this outport community of Little Bay Islands that Phillip and his family first produced their first cassette called "Ted Grimes & Family" a tribute to gospel.
To seek employment Phillip left his community and moved to Grand Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland & Labrador. There he celebrated the birth of his child Chelsea Grimes (Daddy''s Girl). While residing in the town of Grand Falls-Windsor Phillip has produced three more CD''s of old time favourite Gospel songs, with support from his family Chelsea and Lisa.
This is Phillip''s first recording of original song, all written by Everett Adams. Phillip has been requested to make many public appearances throughout Central Newfoundland each time amazing his audience with his voice and ability to play his array of musical instruments.
