St. Catherine''s Church in Westford Massachusetts has a vibrant Music Ministry embracing many styles of liturgical and worship music. Our first CD, “Christmas Hope” was recorded in 2008 as a fund-raiser to help retire the parish debt. The songs on the CD are performed in a variety of styles from a capella to full ensemble with organ, guitars pianos and flutes. Some are solos and some are performed by ensembles including a traditional choir, a junior choir, an instrumental group (flute, violin and piano) and a contemporary ensemble. There are several Christmas favorites and some more rare pieces including the Irish piece, “Wexford Carol,” an instrumental version of the haunting “Coventry Carol,” and a setting of “I Wonder As I Wander.” Also included is a new composition entitled “Lord of Light,” based on the Breton Celtic tune, “L''Hertiere de Keroulaz.”
