In April of 2000 Jim Dunlop, officially started the Plaid Daddy project with the help of 4 musicians who were all attending Berklee College at the time (Jim was a high school drop-out, and doesn''t deserve credit for studying anything). His intention was to create the most diverse & unique cover party band in the New England club circuit. With a consistent networking of friends throughout Berklee College, he was able to work with over 30 musicians and perform over 400 shows in 2 1/2 years. Without using set-lists and using the audience to interact in a non "Gimmic" type show, fans encouraged the release of an original Plaid Daddy CD.
With that support Jim began to collaborate with one of his friends...a session musician from Los Angeles Kay-ta Matsuno (Originally from Japan). They composed 5 songs together ...three of those made it to the CD. He then composed an additional track with his friend from Israel Chen Neeman. Then he composed an additional 7 more tracks to complete the CD which is now available and entitled "Living For The Minute". Stretching musical genres with authenticity in sound and with hook-oriented intention. Being the youngest of 11 children Jim''s musical tastes varied growing up and it comes across in his writing.
The CD''s overall sound and smooth transistion from style to style was made possible by the workings of a fantastic recording engineer Christian Kaufmann from Switzerland who also co-produced the album with Jim.
