ALREADY AUGUST is an alternative pop band from St. Louis with one goal: to record ALL the 400+ songs they’ve written before it’s time to take that skyway drive! After trying to line up some of their musician friends for the project, band members Michael Daniel and James Edward laid down the basic tracks and then decided to finish the entire album themselves.
ALREADY AUGUST is a variety of sounds. How do you categorize something that refuses to fall into any one niche? They could’ve easily followed the tried & true sounds that seem to be mainstay nowadays, but that would’ve been too easy, (and not enjoyable for the boys!)
Just writing what comes off the top of their heads proved to be the most beneficial to their recordings and their sanity. The songs are memorable. Their gift of melody will help them grow into a band to be reckoned with.
Influences of the band proved to be far too many to list here. They informed me they would start a list (in no particular order) on their “my space” page as soon as possible. While their love of “Pop Rock Soul” studio recordings from the 60’s & 70’s is evident here, their feet are planted firmly in the 2000’s. Let’s get back to real songs with ALREADY AUGUST.
