Chikwendu Anyanwu loves music and he loves storytelling. As a marriage counselor, he has always brought these two – music and story – to love and work like a matching couple. So he did with his Christmas album, Song of God’s Children in 2005, and now here is even a more compelling one to hear: "Presiki Da Mma"!

What does this mean? Mystery Language?

Well, love is a mystery and so is the language.
Presiki Da Mma means one love story told in six music tracks, from the admonitions about marriage through its ratification to its actual consummation with the lucky one. All you need to do is play the entire album and you will have been given a great gist to spice up your love relationship. The album is named after the track,“Presiki Da Mma”, which pulls you up from your seat to a swing, a gentle sweet wiggling, reminiscent of the joyful psychedelic movements of a new bride. Presiki Da Mma is a language of the body, not of the mouth. But don’t get shocked when your mouth protests: ‘Oh, hold on, am part of your body’, as it starts rolling out the engaging refrain: “La, la, presiki da mma…!”

This album has a universal appeal not only because it is in Igbo and English languages but because, it addresses love relationships which concerns the human family. Again, it has a combination of different beats, including reggae, folk, pop and Igbo highlife beats. I found the story of my love search in Track 5, “Ije Mu na Love”, making it my favorite by default. Beyond that however, Chikwendu’s poetic talent pulled its weight in this track. Fantastic!

Recorded with some of the best voices East of the Niger, including Onyedika Ekweribe and Ulumma Ruth Opara whose descant takes in Nwakaego’s album, Mma Mma, were breathtaking, Presiki Da Mma is worth every dime spent on it.
