Porphyria is the result of one man''s efforts to put a band together. After years of working with many musicians, Rich Lyga decided to start putting together a studio. He started writing songs for Porphyria''s first album Window to the Soul The result was a much bigger project than expected.
I (Rich Lyga) started laying down demo tracks to get the songs down so they could later be recorded by a band. The demo was sounding better than expected. Soon friends and family started asking for recordings. I started writing more and more songs. A 4 song demo soon turned into a 9 song CD. All of the instruments were recorded by me in my basement. When I finished I couldn''t produce the CD''s as fast as I was selling them. At this point I turned to Discmakers. They supplied me with all of the copies that I needed.
I am influenced by many varieties of music. The guitar being my main instrument, I am strongly influenced by Steve Vai and Joe Satriani. As far as bands go, I am influenced by anything that I can get my hands on.
All songs were written and recorded by Rich Lyga.
All songs were recorded at my home studio.
