P-POL - BIOGRAPHY
The band P-pol were formed in January 2002 when four Bordeaux based musicians decide on a musical project with English lyrics following a chance meeting with English lyricist Eddy Radburn. Lead vocalist; Isa is joined by guitarist; Jean, bass player; Marcel and drummer and keyboard player; Pol.
The band begin to write songs with Eddy and Isa sings in English for the first time. Early songs are recorded using Pol''s home studio in Bordeaux and the band spend the rest of 2002 writing songs and recording demo''s, in total some 25 - 30 songs are completed
The songs are a mixture of pop ballads and up-tempo pop songs with thought evoking lyrics about love and life in general, heartfelt songs by real songwriters. Based
around the musical ideas of drummer and keyboard player; Pol and the stunning vocals and looks of Isa, initial reaction to the music is excellent.
P-pol perform a live concert at the "Arema, rock et chanson" in Bordeaux in January 2003 and the show is recorded and a DVD compiled. The band also plays a live set at La Neff in Angouleme and record 4 songs for future demo purposes. Early demo''s are sent to record companies in France and Germany and meet with a favorable response.
P-pol perform 3 live tracks on the French television show called " Ca part en live" on the station TV7.
P-pol begins recording their debut album with producer, Cyril Teid using the Quilombo home studio. Recording goes extremely well and by December the track listing is complete and mastering and pressing begins.
The album is released in February 2004 and meets with a great response. The band are invited back to the TV7 show "Ca Part en Live" to perform 3 songs from the album and to talk about the making of the album. The album is stocked by the Bordeaux branches of FNAC and Cultera and the band perform showcase gigs at both stores.
Following the initial reaction to the album from professionals in the music business P-pol decide to release a radio edit version of the single "Out of Control" on their Quilombo label. The single will be released in May 2004 and a PR company is retained in Paris who will promote the single to radio and press.
