Preech Man Releases Debut Album "My Reality"
New York, NY - September 2003 - Ready to change the rap game, Preech Man is ready to make all who hear him, a true believer. Set for a November 2003 release, this Yonkers, New York native''s debut release, MY REALITY (Bedrock Records), is filled with riveting stories that keep you focused on words like a polished preacher. His gift comes in holding the attention of others. As a result, Preech Man makes MY REALITY magically feel familiar. "Out of the thirteen songs [on the album]," he says, "you''re gonna know somebody who went through every single one of the songs."
Tracks like "Silent Night" prove Preech Man''s point. Over a mournfully paced beat, Preech eloquently tells the tale of how one man''s death affects a mother, a daughter and a best friend in three different ways. On "Remember," the simple union of a bass, drum, and keyboard, help Preech jog memories back to times when life as a kid seemed so much easier. "[Growing up], you could go to the park and catch a couple of MCs [rapping]. People would bang on the table," he says. "Now, you gotta be prepared to battle."
So do believe that Preech doesn''t hold his lip. On "What Should I Do," He calls out music industry A&R''s for the shady games they play by rhyming, "Should I sign a bad deal/Let the industry rape me/Make me, act up to so much screams they hate me."

And on cuts like "Seems to Me," Preech turns his attention to insecure lovers, blasting the ones who are quick to say their mates are lying. With the help of fellow Yonkers MC Phil Blunts, on "For the Paper," Preech illustrates the good and bad things people do for money. And out of all of the points that Preech makes on his album, the passion exuded on the title track, "My Reality," is among the strongest. Lines like, "Lemme get right to the point/Cause'' I ain''t never had much/Duck tape and a bad crutch/Wrote rhymes and pass the dutch" remind you that Preech is here to spread messages to the masses. And he refuses to do it the way you think. "My reality is guns and drugs," he says. "I could talk about it ''cause I''m around it. But come on, how many albums like that do we really need?"
And Preech Man takes from his influences what he gives back - the battling style of Lord Finesse, the knowledge of KRS-1 and the smooth personae of Big Daddy Kane. With his debut release, MY REALITY, the message is definitely in the music - universal and far reaching from age 8 to 80, Preech Man is ready to set the standard for the rest to follow.

His congregation is thick. People flock to him to hear his words of truth. His footsteps echo in utter silence as he makes his way to the front of the microphone. Who is he? He will reveal himself soon. The crowd waits! The anxiety levels start to bubble. The crowd cheers him on... PREECH! PREECH! PREECH! You can hear the music playing profoundly in the background. Suddenly, the kicks, the snares and drum patterns kick in and the party kicks off. He dubs himself, "Preech Man;" a philosopher giving you the reality of raw emotions and eye witness account experiences. He speaks his mind through his music and he is unstoppable.
Don''t jump to the obvious conclusion that the name "Preech Man" comes from a "Preacher." He''s not a "Preacher," and like most of us his life stems from the roots of the church. He wears his dapper collection of suits on some Sundays; but the name Preech Man was born after identifying with himself at an early age. His unique dialogue is clean, curse-free and positive. The bristling realities of life helped to mold his technique into a universal flow, one that gravitates to everyone. He doesn''t speak about materialistic things, the bling, bling, the hot cars and women. He keeps it simple and real. He''s unpredictable in a good sense and after listening to the album it makes you want to cop it immediately. His sound has been compared to the Late Great Notorious B.I.G., Big L and Beanie Siegel, but his style is one that''s far more different. He''s doing what he loves to do best and that''s prophesizing the wise. It''s in his blood and he doesn''t want to escape it.
Born and raised in Yonkers, New York, Preech started early writing poetry. Later, at the age of 13 he began rapping with his cousin and thereafter he continued to make a name for himself by doing open mics locally and throughout Queens, Brooklyn, The Bronx and Harlem. Wherever there was a battle Preech was your man. Simultaneously, attending the Saunders High School of Yonkers New York, Preech would do spot performances with some of Hip Hops luminaries such as Slick Rick, Dougie E. Fresh, Buster Rhymes and DMX to name a few. He has definitely paid dues in the game. After graduation he attended a few colleges and later decided that school wasn''t for him. He had to pursue his love for music and rapping, thus "Preech Man" was born.
In the year 2000 Preech was introduced to the Flintstones, a team of hot producers who has worked with the Queen of Hip Hop Mary J. Blige, Kaci & Jojo and Nivea. Their beats are fire! and they laced "Preech Man" with a smash album. "My Reality" the album, can be best explained, he says, as "influential, touching on love, pain and real life." The Twenty-something year old says..."My reality is your reality," and anyone who hears this album can and will relate it to their personal experiences. One song that sticks with him particularly is the "Statement;" the very first song to be recorded off of the album. It''s a song that''s introducing him to the world and the music industry.
Preech Man made his debut appearance in Ruff Ryders documentary film "Volume One" and the accolades build from there, he''s opened up for Luke, Trina and Ruff Ryders own, "Jen." He''s collaborated with a slew of hot producers such as D R period, who has credits for working with Janet Jackson, The Winans and Young Lord. Currently, "Preech Man" is participating in a number of charities and Emcee battles: The Shark fest at Westchester Community College, Prince George Community College, A Celebrity Basketball Game Fundraiser held in Philadelphia and a fundraiser held for children at the Philadelphia Community College.
His itinerary is pages long because he insists on giving back. He''s also scheduled to perform at the National Music Idol conference in Baltimore and scheduled to interview with radio station WLOY. It doesn''t stop here for "Preech Man," you''ll even hear his voice on Sways, Hot 97 morning show, doing radio drops. As you can see his celebrity is growing strong. His mentality is to change the rap game. To get consumers to trust again and that it is okay to buy an album. What happened to the love for music making? Our children listen to these messages and "Preech Man" is here to make his mark. To some it may sound like rhetoric, but, to the wise it''s guidance and therapy, so... "Preech Man."
