MP3 Prosthetic Orchestra - A Dream of Fire

Industrial Doom Metal.

5 MP3 Songs
METAL: Industrial Metal, METAL: Doom/Stoner Metal

Details:
Originally known as an electronic industrial rock band made notable for its profound ambient works, Prosthetic Orchestra has been constantly evolving. Formed in March 2001 originally in Ft. Lauderdale with just Trystan Cefer at the helm, immediately started recording of the debut "Functionless Torture Art" in Spring of 2001.

"I wanted to do something harder, heavier, and darker than what alot of the current industrial bands were doing, yet still remain deeper than any grave." mentions founder and chief songwriter Trystan Cefer, "Many are creative with sampling and synthesis, but I wanted something that had the timbre and brutality of death metal guitars, and have it juxtaposed with elaborate lyricism that hinted the madness I felt." A prime example of a start in this direction is the eerie Hereditary Baptism from the debut album, Functionless Torture Art, a song about how destructive human behavior can be.

Despite being recorded on a lower budget than grunge act Nirvana''s debut, Bleach, it was surprisingly close to professional-sounding for the equipment it was recorded on. Immediately on its completion in the Fall, the project was put on hold for 9 months until the official release of FTA in Summer of 2002. By that time, Cefer was already working on new material, adding other musicians to the roster.

With the intention of a 2003 release, P.o was writing and recording a concept album titled "Death Eternal: Through the Eyes of Abbaddon", it ended up becoming a double-cd album but never got released due to lack of funding. In the mean time, two permanent members Gunter and Kara were added to man the guitars and synthesizers as well as collaboration.

In the Spring of 2004, Cefer decided to self-release a mini-CD that was a good abstract of the new sound of P.o that is proclaimed as Industrial Doom Metal. It was mainly to show how much Prosthetic Orchestra has evolved since the debut release. "A Dream of Fire" was named after the most recent track that P.o has officially finished writing and recording. 4 other songs were included that were from the 22 songs originally to be released on Death Eternal which have been recorded and re-written over the past 2 years.

Released in Summer of ''04, has been the best official release by P.o to date. With songs like "A Dream of Fire", an apocalyptic song about realization beyond the point-of-no-return, "Stripped" a ballad about hypocrisy and its self-destructive properties, "Puppets and Toys", a wickedly sarcastic industrial metal hymn to the genesis of the self-rightious, the cybernetic thrasher about psychic vampires "NosferVentrue" and the crushing misanthropical "Pathetic Human Beings", one would visualize a post-apocalyptic world where cyborgs are common and nihilists run rampant!
