BIOGRAPHY

Trying to obtain greatness is all about taking risks, no matter the measure. To get the top, you sometimes have to approach your goal with an unorthodox strategy. The best boxers try to out train and out endure and out technique their opponent. Getting ready for the fight, the boxer some times finds a weakness in their competition no one else sees and takes advantage of that, in the day and age we live in where the rap game switches more then a video vixen at a 50 cent video shoot, Its breath of fresh air to hear an artist that stays to his roots but also evolves with the time on his terms. And more importantly takes a risk that no other artist would.
"505"
New Mexico, most people out side of this state still thinks it’s a country. New Mexico has no pro teams and was once a state were major military weapons were tested because of its expendability. With maybe one major city, the rap scene has been null and void. No major attention from any major labels, and the local scenes copy cating the main stream, New Mexico hasn’t really had a sound or a rapper to follow. With all these obstacles it’s hard to think of hip-hop culture or rap music in general, could ever come out this state. Pelons is bit of an anomalie, a malfunction in the matrix or a glitch. A rapper with street roots, but with a sensibility for witty lyrics, in reminiscence of a young camillionare or ludacris. A Latino rapper that stands out above the rest. From the street prospective of rap music to the craft of mcing showcasing story telling skills and punch lines. There hasn’t been this kind of buzz for a Latin rapper since spm or big pun. Wit his begins starting with a project called "The 505 Connection" and a producer by the name of Mister X Pelon featured on 2 tracks. Armed wit a rapid fire flow like Twista or Tech9, Pelon killed every track thrown at him. wit a couple of stand out appearances on this project pelon was forecasting what was to come. The 505 connect LP got national distribution and did more then let the rap game know.... New Mexico had something to say.

"Drastic Measures"
With a buzz starting to formulate, and the pressure to do a solo album to follow the 505 connect LP Pelon was looking to change his sound but at the same time stay relevant to the Chicano rap scene. Not working with Mister X on this project he looked for outside production. Finding another young producer starting to create a buzz for him self in his own right he found Atrak. Atrak did a couple of mixtapes with some success but was looking for an artist he could have the creative freedom to make classic material with. The combination of the two was undeniable. With pelons fast rap style and lyrics and Traks versatile style of production the drastic measures mixtape was a classic in the making. The secret was no one knew about it. Like assembling a nuke they put the project together slowly. With the intentions of surprising the masses wit more of view of Pelons depth as an artist. The mix tape was more an LP then some random freestyles over some already heard beats. The soundscape was dirty south by nature but sounded west coast.......... then it sound east coast. By the end of the mix tape you heard Pelon wreck all spectrums rap... but keeping his own style intact. Finishing the mix tape in late 2004 the mix tape hit the streets hard. Surprising his compition and fans with stand out tracks like the Texas influenced "so throwed" were pelon flips punch line after punch line about swag and rap. To his more gutter street style on "Duck and Run" were pelon and Romero of click one, flip bar after bar over demented piano cords, 808 drums and heavy claps. The project showed a seasoned vet in a rapper that was still considered a rookie only by years.

"Certified"
Now with a successful mix tape under his belt. He’s about to drop his 1st solo LP. Already releasing two tracks from the about be classic LP "certified" the streets are buzzing for the release. The 1st single "money" is already a radio and strip club favorite. And "drive slow" featuring Lucky Luciano is a certified block banger. This year he’s packing more heat for the summer the album is set to drop in late July 2008. With a few surprises on the LP pelon is set out to prove why he’s one of, if not the best out of New Mexico.
