The Defiants began in 1963 as friends since grade School in Espanola, Santa Fe and Albuquerque NM. The Defiants were managed by Dick Frank who booked them hi and lo And had them open for the Dave Clark Five in Albuquerque The Defiants had A regional hit record in 1966 with "End of the Highway" to become one of New Mexico''s top songs. So we packed our guitars and headed for LA finding some replacements along the way, while some band members went to Vietnam. Time passed and after one of the band members had a highly successful album “David Salazar” the band was reunited in 1982 for a Sell-out crowd in Santa Fe and recorded “The Defiants Live” The band went separate ways again until. Dick Frank passed away in 2005, The Defiants gathered at the funeral, began recording in Albuquerque and Manteca Ca. and finally finished 2008. Some Members Have had a taste of music success. Drummer Johnny Lucero will be re-joining The Band in the near Future. The Defiants have had re-placement members Who have passed away but, these are the original Members who started in 1963. There have been many Tragedies within the band members, but they picked themselves back up and are Still Defiant.
