The Radioactive Werewolf is a collection of ''western'' influenced modern instrumentals and southern rock songs. The album''s music and lyrics are based around an abstract concept/story featuring a serial killer, voodoo priest and a radioactive active werewolf who terrorizes a small southwestern town. The Radioactive Werewolf and other Tales from the Southwest is Don Bodin''s fourth (4th) instrumental album release since 2006.
To add depth and zest to the instrumentals Bodin brought in a select group of soloists and musicians to record the album. A staple on Bodin''s releases, Operatic soprano, Elif Savas provides haunting and beautiful vocals to five of the tracks. For the more rock based songs Bodin called on his brother, Bernard Bodin (The Mumble), for vocals, Chris Schleyer (Kidney Thieves, Prick), for electric guitar as well as bass and Alain Whyte (Morrissey) for acoustic guitar performances.
Bodin wrote the music for The Radioactive Werewolf and other Tales from the Southwest after a recent family vacation to the southwest. He based the music and lyrics on outlandish stories inspired by road signs and plays on words.
"My brothers and I were coming up these crazy stories to entertain ourselves while we traveled over the vast and barren desert." Bodin commented, "I always imagine little stories and scenarios when I travel and it was a such pleasure to experience this play of imagination as a communal activity, especially with my brothers, as we''re all adults."
