One song down and the crowd automatically invented the chant "box, box, box, box, box, box..." It was the night of 3rd December 2004. DonkeyBox came on stage at Imperial College Union at 1.08am in a charged atmosphere. The battle of the bands organisers had given them what they thought as the worst token slot of the night. But that was never to be, there was never a bad slot for DonkeyBox since they always made the best of a bad situation.
Based in London, England DonkeyBox released their EP Backstage Pass in June 2007. Through the new found power of social networking they started building a fan base in the US by mailing out free CDs to a largely student population. This personal touch in an age where music is promoted by the touch of a button was very refreshing and a once local London university band now connects to a global audience.
Beyond a shadow of a doubt their most memorable song to date is Crap Day. The song tells the story of a person going through a bad day. It''s a story that every one of us can connect to and it''s about looking back and having a laugh at the situation and frustration of the time.
