A little bit about me…
My name is Julia Gavrilov. I am a mom of 3 handsome boys and a wife to a Godly man of six years. For many years I had a dream to minister to unbelievers and to uplift those who have fallen. Christmas is my favorite holiday and I decided to use this opportunity to create and record a Christmas album. I have a passion and a personal vision to pass on the spiritual meaning of Christmas into the hearts of people.
I was born into a Christian family in Ukraine. My musical life began when my parents decided to enroll me into a music school at the age of 7. I continued taking piano lessons when my parents moved to US in 1990. At the age of 12 I was asked to play for the Church choir where I played for ten years. Additionally, I participated in 3 church bands where I played the piano and sang. One of my vocal instructors was an opera singer from St. Petersburg, Russia. I had the joy to travel and visit many different Slavic churches within the US. In the year 2000, I participated in the opening ceremony of annual Slavic “Bridges of Love Music Festival 2000” held in Wheaton, IL.
This Christmas album is in Russian language with the exception of Song #3 – Mary Did You Know (lyrics by Mark Lowry). The songs that I chose for this album are either traditional or well known by many. They carry the true redeeming message behind Christ’s coming to Earth on the first Christmas day. If one of these songs could touch a lost or a broken heart, then my long time dream would come true. I wish that the songs on this CD would ignite the birth of Christ in the hearts of listeners.
