Overview

Raquel J. is a talented, independent artist, working her way into the music industry. Born into a family of musicians, she has developed her musical background into top-notch musical skills. Not only can she sing, she can song-write and produce. Her musical talent has even reached from writing a popular software theme song to an outstanding performance at the Pentagon in Washington D.C. She''s rapidly acquiring popularity amongst audiences in various parts of the world.

About the Album

Without formal voice lessons or a musical education, Raquel J. has written, recorded and produced a solo album, titled "My Body". While, most of the tracks deal with the ups and downs of love, her lyrics have a way of captivating and grabbing the emotions of her listeners. Some songs are soft and sweet, while, others are brutal and cold. Let''s just say that she bluntly and precisely communicates some of the most profound emotions felt in intimate relationships of today.

All of the tracks on the album were created with the well-known music-writing software program called "FL Studio". In December of 2003, the track "My Body" received so many great reviews, that it was remixed by music industry engineer, Blake Reary, using the FL Studio program. The remix was then released as the demo "theme" song for FL Studio version 4.5.2 software.

About Raquel J.

Raquel J. began recording in her early teenage years with her older brother- a classical pianist and recording artist- now known as Odysseus. With just a $200.00 stereo, a tape recorder and a cheap microphone, Raquel J. recorded several choruses over the instrumentals of popular songs while her brother rapped.

When in high school, another older brother of hers, song-writer and producer Barabbas, heard a song she was preparing for a talent show. He was so captivated by her voice, that he invited her to record and eventually co-write an album using highly advanced music-writing software for computers. As a music band, they called themselves OR and titled their album "Along for the Ride."

What’s Happening Now

Today, Raquel J. works a regular full-time job, while working towards her break into the music industry. In Morris County New Jersey, she collaborates with other independent artists and continues to write for future albums. Her goal, however, is to be a songwriter for a major record label. Raquel shares: "I love to sing, but I believe most of my talent lies in my songwriting. I would really love to collaborate with songwriters on major record labels. Once I get my foot in the door and when many people know who I am, then, I would feel more comfortable performing my own songs. However, if fate only allows me to perform first in order to become the songwriter I want to be, then so be it."

Accomplishments

Raquel J. is no novice to performing. She sang in several school talent shows, weddings and, sadly, funerals. She sang many solo performances in all of her school chorus productions and was selected by her high school band director to sing at the final band performance of the year (which merited a standing ovation). She was given the distinct honor of singing the national anthem a cappella at High School athletic events. She was, also, invited to perform for the Secretary and Assistant Secretary of the Army at the Pentagon in Washington D.C., which, she accomplished, flawlessly, and for which she received a letter of gratitude.

When it comes to performing, she puts on an amazing show. Raquel shares: "When I sing, I can''t help but become very emotional. It is the only way I know how to express myself". Her emotions definitely show, as many of her performances have brought people to tears.

In addition to writing the original song "My Body", of which, the remix, was released as the demo song on Fl Studio, Raquel J has, also, recorded over 250 vocal samples, which are, now, available on the Vocal Sample Cd from SampleFusion. This CD comes with the boxed version of FL Studio version 5.0. and is also available on https://www.tradebit.com.
