Details:
Recalling the melodic guitar-based pop of Michelle Branch, singer/songwriter Rachael Petit writes heartfelt, introspective songs that convey pain and confusion about growing up but finds hope in spiritual faith. Taking a modern alternative approach, Petit strays from the manufactured bubblegum of her teenaged peers for a more mature and meaningful body of work. Her debut album Wilted Flowers captures a life in transition, peeling away the skin of adolescent hurt and entering a more positive existence, one that is lit with the wisdom of the Lord. Although her lyrics have an obviously Christian viewpoint, Petit''s songs are for everyone who is in need of comfort; her sweet, soothing vocals and sunny guitars have universal appeal.

Ever since she can remember, Rachael has been singing and making up her own words to songs. At the age of fourteen, she discovered the art of the guitar. She began writing songs by piecing together her original poems, forming what is now her first album, Wilted Flowers. Though the album is finished and on it''s way, she is still creating more and more songs. The basis of her album and her life is her Savior, Jesus Christ. She finds her inspiration through the trials and tough times she faces. Not only that, but also the good times and how wonderful it feels to be with God and glorifying Him by just breathing. Throughout her life rachael has gone through many ups and downs. She faced a very hard time during middle school that has shaped who she is now. She feels that no matter where someone has come from, it''s who they have become due to those situations that really counts. Now at the age of seventeen, Rachael has become stronger and one step closer to her goal ... to glorify her Father through her music.

"i am not perfect, in fact i am far from it. i do my best to be myself and to follow my heart in all i do. i mess up many times along the way and fall into temptation. not everyone will be accepting but what means the most to me is that through those times, i can always turn to those who love me and know i am forgiven. most importantly, i can turn to God because He will always be there arms open."
