Redman Caldwell is the Musical Director at the First Baptist Church of Glenarden, in Landover Maryland. Min. Caldwell, a native of Cleveland, Ohio was born to Elder & Mrs. James R. Caldwell on Feb. 24, 1972. In 1974, Min. Caldwell''s family moved to Philadelphia, PA which was the beginning of Redman''s journey to his musical career. In the earlier stages of Redman''s life he developed an ear for true gospel music. He listened to the greats such as "The Hawkins Family", James Cleveland, Andre Crouch, and the late Thomas Whitfield. When Redman turned 11 years old, he began to develop a greater love for the piano and organ. He always wanted to back his father while he was preaching, and play for his mother while she sang her solo''s in church.
Min. Caldwell had his formal training from the Music Settlement Schools of Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania. In pursuit of furthering his musical career, Redman took a position as Min. of Music at Mount Zion Baptist Church of Greensboro in August of 1999. It is a church with a membership of over 5,000 parishioners. During his tenure there, he played for various artist including Tramaine Hawkins, Marvin Sapp, Rickey Dilliard, and Eddie James & Colorblind, just to name a few. Min. Caldwell has also accompanied many well known preachers and evangelist from all over the country. He is a skilled producer and musical director. One of his most recent projects that he was musical director for was the all male group called "Signature". This live project afforded Min. Caldwell the honor of being the Praise and Worship Music Director for Bishop T.D. Jakes Man Power Conference in August 2002.
Min. Caldwell is most noted for his ability to usher the presence of God through worship without the support of a choir and a band. Min. Redman Caldwell''s Motto is "Only what you do for Christ will last". He is married to the lovely Michelle Bass who also ministers along side of her husband. They both now reside in Maryland.
