At the age of 14, he joined a group called "Thrush", and began playing gigs around the New Orleans area. Realizing at this point, school was useless, his family had to send him to boarding school. After graduating the "Goodyear Tire & Rubber Soul Co., recruited him to Detriot, Mich., after all, they were responsible for his financial up bringing. Richard was still able to join bands in the "riot city" but nothing promising came his way. Leaving Detroit and moving to Florida proved to be a better move for his musical career. In 1990, he joined a band on the Alternative cutting edge. With the "hair" bands on the down-swing, his band exploded on the scene, with an interesting new sound, they managed to catch the ears and eyes of "Interscope Records". A last minute decision to offer a development deal instead of a record contract, the band went into a turmoil. At this point, Richard decided to move on and relocate to the Orlando area. But in ''93, he moved to Cocoa Beach, where his second dream came true, working on the beach as a sophisticated beach bum. And on April 11th, 2004, his life would take another musical venture...
