Details:
Upon the release of his sixth album "The Ever Present Now", recording artist Nick Farr offers a colorful palette of original compositions that is sure to please his long-standing fans as well as new listeners. “This album,” the artist says, “is a recording I have long wanted to make. It seems to have a really natural feel, and the wonderful musicians who contribute on the cd really put their hearts into it.” The pianist/composer has included twelve original songs on this record, which sample his unique writing styles and creativity. With much variety in both composition and style that tastefully blends the genres of new age, jazz, classical and contemporary instrumental, this is an engaging yet beautiful auditory experience.
Nick’s fifth recording “Keep Moving” hit the airwaves strongly as well, debuting at #4 before moving into the #3 spot in the summer of 2004. A jazzier set, this recording shows Farr’s skills at composing more up-tempo tunes with more different instruments and far-ranging song writing.
"Farther", Farr''s fourth release debuted at # 3 on the New Age Voice Airwaves chart in October 2000 and moved up to the respectable # 1 position for November. It remained in the Top 40 for six months on Top 20 radio lists well into 2002. As well, "Farther" has been used in television as theme and background music-a setting that is well-suited for the composer''s wide range of styles.
"Fahrenheit", Nick''s third release hit the NAV Top 100 for airplay in September 1999. "Old River, New Water", released in 1998, is a bolder and more percussive recording that shows more of the composer''s unique writing styles. "Winterbourne", Farr''s 1996 debut album, sets a serene stage around the piano. And with much the contemporary classical influence, the album fast became a favorite of lovers of piano and ensemble works. "Winterbourne", "Old River, New Water", "Fahrenheit" and Farther charted thirty-eight straight months in New Age Voice Airwaves Top 20 lists, which exemplifies his staying power in the new age and jazz markets. The music has also charted on CMJ , Gavin as well as other charts worldwide. As well, the music has aired daily on satellite television (DirecTV, Dish Net) for more than five years.
A native of South Carolina, Farr began his journey into music at the age of five with classical piano training. With a music scholarship to college, Nick developed as a musician by studying various genres and styles. And later, as piano became more love than work, the writing process began again. Since that time, he has focused on a type of music and composition with which he is most proficient and comfortable-a style of piano concentrating on memorable melodies and harmonies intertwined with guitars, horns, woodwinds, percussion, strings and synths. And as each new recording unfolds through rich soundscapes and thoughtful solos, Nick''s music takes each listener on an auditory journey into his creative imagination.
