Details:
Nordic formed in Portland, Oregon in September of 2001. The “lush yet icy” layered sound Nordic is known for has matured over the years with the addition of a drum machine and a new vocalist. The overlapping organ and synth melodies, along with heavily shaped guitar have transformed the pensive shoegazer pop to moody electro-dance music.
Nordic recorded a three-song demo in the summer of 2002, produced by Ian Parks (The Rosemarys, The Magnetic, An American Starlet). The track Honeyblind was included in the Reverb Records’ Shoegazer Bliss compilation CD, released in December 2002. In September 2003, Nordic ventured into the studio to record the 6-song transatlantic ep, produced by Jeramy Koepping of Seattle band Voyager One and mastered by Tony Lash (The Dandy Warhols, Quasi). The track Hymn was included in a second Reverb Records compilation In A Different Place, released December 2003.
After Elizabeth Dye left the band in 2004, Nordic continued to play out and worked on building the perfect line up. It was not until winter 2006, when Michelle Schneider joined, that Nordic finally began to shape songs for their second EP. The https://www.tradebit.com was recorded and produced by Nordic and is set to release in early 2009.
