Ever had honey poured in your ear?

Tampa Bay is finding out what it is like with Rebekah Pulley and the Reluctant Prophets. The band''s mix of folk, country, and rock showcase the writing, singing, and playing talents of a band that is making the local listener stand up to take notice of the more sweet soulful local writers.
Rebekah Pulley began playing at the age of fifteen inspired by her father, a country-western musician who played for country great Charlie Ryan. Rebekah was born the fifth of nine children in Anchorage, Alaska and spent her earlier years brought up on the road in a rather unconventional family atmosphere. Continuing to travel the country on her own, she finally found her place in the local scene of St. Petersburg Florida. Over the years she has developed her sound and fan base as a notable singer and songwriter.

In the fall of 2002 Rebekah hooked up with Nashville drummer Josh Touchton, who was longing to play with an artist who pulled out the emotional, organic side of his playing and took the opportunity on Rebekah''s 2003 release, The Real World. His Rock, Country, Punk, and Soul background was the first level for the Reluctant Prophets. Rob Pastore was the Prophets next addition. Rob cut his teeth on lead and rhythm guitar since the tender age of 15 and when arriving in Tampa in 2002 found himself immersed in the Tampa/St. Pete music scene. His solid lead guitar was just what this band needed to give Rebekah a solid foundation and space to branch out into more sonic space. The only thing missing was the other piece to the rhythm section, in walked Joe Culver. Joe graduated Minneapolis'' Music Tech and has been heavily involved in the Tampa music scene for over a decade and like a key to a lock, fit in perfectly. With this final addition, Rebekah had her Reluctant Prophets.

Rebekah Pulley and the Reluctant Prophets are currently working on a new CD to follow up Rebekah Pulley''s 2003 critically acclaimed The Real World. Their mix of haunting vocals, earthy rhythms and sweet tone has earned a place in the hearts and cd players of Tampa/St. Pete''s music fans. They were picked at the start of 2004 to represent the local scene by heading to Austin Tx. For the South by Southwest Music Conference in March. Not bad for an Alaskan kid and her trio of goons
