13 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Americana, POP: California Pop

Details:
Red Star Memorial played their last show August 2004 in San Francisco, California at the Bottom of the Hill. It would be their first and last appearance at the I.P.O. (International Pop Overthrow Festival). This CD represents a fraction of the band''s great songs and leaves those that missed the band live wondering what could have been... This collection of songs is a must for those into independant Americana Roots Rock. You will love this CD, an undiscovered gem.

Below is the bio the band used when they were actively playing live, and a few comments from the press and critics that loved them. Listen to the MP3''s, buy the CD, turn it up and enjoy!

Red Star Memorial June 2000 - August 2004

Combining the sweet sounds of Bakersfield, California (Buck Owens) with Gainesville, Florida (Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers) in addition to poetic lyrics with heart felt emotion, Red Star Memorial has captured a sound all their own...

American Rock n Roll!!!

Driven by the songwriting talent of Bobby Jordan (Lead Vocals, guitar), joined by brothers Chris and Steve Amaral (Drums and Lead guitar) and Bryce Gonzales (Bass guitar), Red Star Memorial has been nominated for Pop Band of the Year at the Sacramento Area Music Awards (the SAMMIES) two years in a row.

Since forming in the summer of 2000, Red Star Memorial has been fortunate enough to play along side The Mother Hips, Convoy, Deke Dickerson and the Ecco-Phonics, Magnolia Thunderfinger, Hypnotic IV, and countless other local and regional acts.  Their ability to combine influences from Cheap Trick and James Brown, to Whiskey Town and the Rolling Stones has made them favorites in the Sacramento scene.

Their long awaited full length CD, "IT''S ABOUT TIME" recorded with local singer/songwriter/producer David Houston at the controls, is completed.

Press:

"It''s About Time," highlights the quartet''s California musical hybrid sound -- sort of Bakersfield country meets Tom Petty-styled Americana
-Rachel Liebrock, Sacramento Bee "Sac Ticket"

"About time indeed! Red Star Memorial''s CD Release show...there''s good reason to smile here. A lucky 13 songs comprise "Its About Time" and there are some dandies...Red Star fans left the show that night with smiles on their faces. Well done fellas" -Cary Rodda, Alive and Kicking

"At just one show fans can hear a variety of sounds...with slick matching suits, great music and amazing stage presence, Red Star Memorial is just one of the many bands flourishing in the Sacramento music scene." -Ryan Endean, CSUS Hornet

"...the first show I saw after the attack was Red Star Memorial. They''re one of those bands that are so damn good, after blowing thru 10 break neck original tunes it was time for requests and there isn''t a tune they don''t know. When they went into American Girl, everyone got the fever. Maybe it''s cheesy, but it felt great to be among 150 or so sweaty club-goers of all types i.e. hipsters, punks, professionals, and everyone else screaming along the words "American Girl" in an American club with other Americans loving American music." -Josh Perry, https://www.tradebit.com

"Red Star Memorial...played quite well, with consistently strong songs that flowed nicely together; its members also looked rather dapper with their clean crisp suits" -Tim White, Sacramento News and Review
