THE ARTIST: R.E.U.B.
Some say It''s all in the name, and R.E.U.B.''s name says it all. He''s a Real Entrepreneur in the Underground Business of hip-hop. The founder and front man for his own, Heaven On Earth Productions, R.E.U.B''s got the ambition to match his talent. His style has been called a cross between Malcolm X and Hitler and his debut album "Pair-a-dice" is a mirror image of its creator: a pure paradox. It''s sultry yet nasty, it''s two cups Andre 3000, two cups Big Boi. It''s the Cosby Show meets the Osbornes, only better.

After listening to Pair-a-dice once, if you''re not stuck banging your head to the hypnotic beats, then you''re trapped repeating the clever punch lines. Roll this Pair-a-dice again, and R.E.U.B. takes you on a rollercoaster ride through the sex, drugs, and hip-hop good life, to the struggles of government housing, poverty, and death. Pair-a-dice is a brutally honest look into R.E.U.B.''s life. It is a tale told so creatively that in one breath could have the pope doing Harlem Shake, and in the next, leave the hardest thug wiping tears from his cheeks.

The Virginia native has had a unique twenty four years to draw inspiration from. Originally born in Ghana, his family finally hit Washington DC in 1982 as political refugees. Time found R.E.U.B. living in different public housing residences throughout VA, and in and out of trouble with the law. Still, beyond the trouble, his talents in basketball and rapping helped R.E.U.B. escape his neighborhood and family problems. As the basketball faded out, the Hip-hop became more important and escalated from just dancing and listening, to writing and producing, and finally running his own company and releasing "Pair-a-dice".

THE ALBUM: PAIR-A-DICE
From one standpoint this album is a showcase of the next great Virginia producer, as R.E.U.B. single handedly laced "Pair-a-dice" with a sound reminiscent of that mid 90''s New York flavor coined by hip-hop legends like DJ Premiere. Still in the tradition of today''s innovative VA producers, R.E.U.B. mixes his sound with touches of everything from Soul to Heavy Metal to give Pair-a-dice a stand alone style.

From another standpoint, R.E.U.B is "your favorite rappers favorite rapper." He got the stories, the wit, the song concepts, the hooks, the insight, the punchlines, and most importantly, he''s so real that by the end of your 70 minute trip into his life, you end up feeling like you know the 24 year old. Still while the initial tendency is to compare his style to other artists, if you listen closely, you''ll realize this charismatic emcee does indeed "Stand out like smokers with five minutes of break left" (All MY PEOPLES verse 1).

Listen to the WPGC 95.5 battle of the beats champion song "All My Peoples" and hear the most infectious hip-hop anthem since Mobb Deep''s "Quiet Storm" and Common''s "6th Sense." Feel the energy in the club when "Gotcha" and "Musik" come on, or just pull your lady in close as "4 letter Words" puts her in the mood. Take a road trip and just listen as R.E.U.B gets your mind open with songs like "Still Life," "Tha Bleus," and "D''Hydrated Water." Laugh at "Sex Ed," reminisce to "The Legend of Pretty Tony pt.1," cry to "This Mourning" and just fall in love with the album: Pair-a-dice.
