Mama’s Shirt, consisting of founding members Valencia Seals and James L Carrothers, is a local Charlotte Band that plays Rich Jazz along with a blend of R&B, and Classics. The band recently released their self titled CD hosting and recording the event live and has played venues such as the Jazz Café, Blue, Excelsior and have played at college Homecomings, Special Events and in Nashville. Mama’s Shirt has an extensive following and is currently pursuing National recognition. Friend of the band Ron G of Last Comic Standing and Hollywood describes the sound as “Grown and sexy music, that 401k I got my act together music”.
