Details:
Rick Gregory, better known as R.G., was born August 2, 1969 and raised in Tazewell, Tennessee. The oldest of Randall Gregory and Mary Davis''s four children, R.G always loved to sing and play music. R.G. started his singing career at an early age singing at his grandparent''s church. In 1987, he began singing with The Way Plain Travelers from Knoxville. During that period he was the opening act for such headliners as the Williams Brothers, the Jackson Southernaires and the Pilgrims Jubilees. In 1989, R.G. left the Travelers joining the ministry of the late Bishop H. Jenkins Bell. Under Bell''s ministry, R.G. had the privilege to work in music workshops with such artists as the late Rev. James Moore, Dorinda Clark (The Clark Sisters) and the Rev. Timothy Wright.

In 2000, R.G. left Nashville to join the New Travelers of Knoxville, Tennessee. After two years with the group, he took a leave of absence and moved to Middlesboro, Kentucky where the Lord put him under the ministry of a highly anointed minister, Bishop Joseph Glover, who encouraged him to use his gift of music for the glory of God.

In October 2002, R.G. met James Ford of Youngstown, Ohio, who provided him the opportunity to use his gift and reach his goal. In December of that year, R.G. began work on his first CD, The Project.

In May 2004 R.G. won the American Gospel Music Award for the Best Male Vocalist, and he also appeared on Bobby Jones New Artist Showcase on the Word network.

R.G. would like to thank the people that encouraged him to continue to sing for Christ. "First, I would like to thank my lord and savior, Jesus Christ, for the gift he has given me to share with his people. Special thanks go to my assistant pastor, Rev. Anthony Francis for all of his encouraging words and support and to my "church family" for their support and encouragement. Last but not least, I would like to give special thanks to James and Jeniene Ford for being true friends, for helping me, encouraging me, and giving me the opportunity to use the gifts that God has given me."
