Rich began studying music at age eight, initially dividing his time between violin, cello, and piano. Then one day he discovered the guitar and started down the road of his honky tonk heroes. From Junior Wells to Bob Wills, Eric Burdon to Eric Clapton, Johnny Winter to Johnny Cash he explored every turnoff and detour, leaving him with broad musical taste and a deep appreciation for all music.
The music on FOOL is performed by some of the best musicians in this part of the country. Rich''s haunting harmonica moans over his own rhythm guitar work and potent bass lines. Ed Cook''s soulful screams on guitar are understated yet marvelous. Add the tasty keyboards of "Uncle Ray" Fetzer and the rock solid rhythms of drummer Steve Vaughn and this album cooks like a kettle on a campfire.
