Mustard Seeds Bio:

The Mustard Seeds started in 1993 by famed brothers Matt and Gregg Bissonette (sidemen for such famous artists such as Maynard Fergeson, Ringo Starr, David Lee Roth, Joe Satriani, and many more.) The brothers had played together all of their lives and finally wanted to start their own band, After looking high and low for 2 guitarists/vocalists to join the band they found Toronto native son George Bernhardt and Doug Bossi from Austin, Texas.

Said Matt Bissonette, "We wanted to have two guitar players as we had heard the heavy sounds of bands with only one guitarist (like Kings X -an early influence) and we liked the fuller sound and approach to having two guitarists."

Of course the Beatles conquest of America and the world laid the groundwork for many bands since their humble beginnings in Liverpool and the Mustard Seeds were no exception. Pooling together all of the combined influences of the band members the guys started writing and recording in June of 1994.

Since their was no name for the band the guys agreed on "The Grateful Dudes" to start playing live gigs to practice the new material. The name eventually graduated to "Acid Rain" then finally "The Mustard Seeds" in early 1994.

The first release from the band (self entitled "The Mustard Seeds") got the notice of famed manager Doc Mcghee (Motley Crue, Kiss, Bon Jovi). Doc believed in the band and signed them to his management label. A new record label (Entourage Records) signed the band and released their first CD.

Gregg Bissonette (being one of the world''s busiest session drummers) decided to leave the band in early 1995. He was replaced by Jorge Palacios, an incredible drummer in his own right and the band moved on to start touring the new record.

Marlboro Records (a division of EDL in Germany) picked up the CD. They remixed certain tracks and brought over to tour Germany. In 1996 the band went on to play at the famed Rock Am Ring with such rising stars such as Alanis Morrisette and Rage Against the Machine. The band also shot a video for their songs "Cats and Dogs" and "Quicksand" during this period which aired on MTV Europe.

1997 brought the band back into the studio for their next release entitled "Red". The guys had a chance to work with many producers at this point and by this time had recorded over 100 songs and had to choose the best 10 that represented their growth as a band.

The CD "Red" was released on Radio Mafia records and the band kept up a busy schedule touring and recording new material.

In early 1998 the band was chosen to be the back up band for one of Japan''s superstars, Utsu Takashanimi. After this tour the band came back to the United States where Doug decided to move on after 5 years in the band.

The Mustard Seeds got a replacement guitarist/vocalsist in Mike Wallace and did some more recording in early 1999. The band decided to disband officially later that year.

Matt Bissonette went on to release many self entitled cds (called "Spot"). In early 2003 he formed a new band called "The Squirts" with George Bernhardt. The two also joined forces to tour with Rick Springfield and can be currently seen on tour with Rick.

George Bernhardt is currently mixing and mastering the new Mustard Seeds CD and has kept busy over the last few years writing/producing/ and touring the world (and elsewhere ;0) with a variety of artists.

Doug Bossi moved on to record and produce David Coverdale for his self entitled release "Into the Light" as well as tour with Jennifer Paige ("Crush"). In recent years he has kept busy writing and producing music for diverse artists as well as television and commercial work.

Jorge Palacios has kept busy in recent years playing and touring with many artists. He currently is living in the San Diego area and can be seen on tour with many bands.

In 2007 Matt and George decided to call Doug and Jorge to see if the four ex band mates could possibly create some new music. After one week of a group writing session the band had written 12 new songs. The band has recently been putting the finishing touches on the new CD entitled "The Mustard Seeds III". The band will be releasing the CD in the Fall of 2008 and has launched a new website to promote and reach out to their many fans at https://www.tradebit.commustard https://www.tradebit.com.
