Fun-ass New York City freak pop for the educated and disaffected of the world and anyone else with two ears and a brain between ''em.

POP: Quirky, POP: Power Pop

Details:
Not since the Fab Four played Shea Stadium has New York City seen such great music or such weird haircuts. The four lads who make up The Right Bastards have one mission in life: to spread their distinctive brand of "freak pop" to the educated and disaffected of the world, and anyone else with two ears and a brain between ''em.

So just how do they pull off this feat? Drawing from the kind of hyper-eclectic sources that make bands like Barenaked Ladies and They Might Be Giants so hard to categorize (and even harder to explain to your grandparents), the musical stylings of the Right Bastards feature offbeat and intelligent lyrics, bouncy tunes, crisp harmonies and a wicked sense of humor that serves up society''s sacred cows as so much hamburger meat. Not only does the emperor have no clothes, they like to point out, but he''s wearing a really bad toupee.

The band consists of Scott Wolfson on vocals and acoustic & electric guitars; Mark Berube on vocals, bass, and harmonica; Skyler Bode on keyboards, bass, and vocals; and Dan Weiss on drums.

The Right Bastards, a shockingly entertaining live act, can be seen regularly at New York City''s ultra-groovy downtown club The Baggot Inn, and their debut album, "Nobody Likes You," is being hailed as the most exciting music to come out of the NYC scene since that kid who hits plastic buckets with drumsticks. So buckle your seat belts, clean out your ears, and get ready for the wild ride that is The Right Bastards. Won''t you?
