The original idea for OUT OF BLUE was conceived more than ten years ago by Rita Taylor. It was intended to be a Rock Opera inspired by the study of Wagnerian Operas in college, and having experienced the impact of the off-Broadway production of "Jesus Christ Superstar" in New York City when she was fourteen years old. Although the screenplay is not religious in nature, OUT OF BLUE has taken shape as a screenplay production because of the accessibility of the television format available to Rita as a member of TCCC, currently known as Access Tucson. She is a long-time member of that cable channel, who is certified as camera operator and director, as well as having written, produced and has been featured on many musical productions. The soundtrack is still an important part of the idea of the OUT OF BLUE production, as Rita''s music is featured throughout. The movie is not available at this time, but has cablecast in May-June of 2003 on local channels.
The CD stands on it''s own as a sample of Rita''s diverse music-writing prowess. It''s a collection of songs from Americana Rock style to Easy listening Pop/Soft Rock. The featured musicians add to the total sound and make it more than a coffeehouse version of some nice tunes.
