Details:
Beverly Rieger began her musical life as a classical musician, growing up in a family rich in artists, writers and musicians. In 1987 she traveled to the Mayan lands in Mexico and began a journey of composition, performance and recording music which reflects the sights and sounds of the sacred places of the Maya. Her classical education in music was enriched by extensive experience in heart-centered meditation, and in healing. Thus, The Journey of Joy and The Beloved carry the feel of the Maya, and have the quality of quiet which is so essential to sacred music.
Beverly began her career in composition with the album Mayan Dream, featuring the Kurzweil keyboard, voice, violin and flute. This was followed by The Beloved, Watchers, Stille Pointe, Walking the Labyrinth and Mayan Portal which were eventually released in final form on The Beloved CD in 2000. The Beloved is the music of choice for Healing Touch, for massage therapy, and for other forms of healing throughout the United States and Canada. Dancers of the Flame was also released on CD in 2002. Now a fourth CD, The Journey of Joy, has been written. This music features a drum from Copan, Guatemalen drum, Kurzweil sounds, and original flute from the Mayan lands.
The music that Beverly composes and performs tells the story of different aspects of living the fire of creativity, and a joyful, heart-centered life.
