Often compared to the unique vocal sounds of Stevie Nicks and Natalie Merchant, singer/songwriter Jen Walton is emerging with a new album. Sultry, strong vocal harmonies, emotion driven lyrics and dynamic guitar melodies by bandmate and brother, Evan Walton. Jen and her brother, Evan, formed The Waltons, years back as two individual artists looking to collaborate sounds. The Waltons have performed at events with many music greats including Cracker (David Lowery, Johnny Hickman), Sophie B. Hawkins, and Bernie Worrell. The new album is the first solo effort for Jen as a songwriter and has resulted in a musical hybrid of sounds. The band has recorded several of the tracks at Sound of Music Studios with Producer David Lowery (Counting Crows, Carbon Leaf) as well at their local homegrown studio, Sweet Creek Studios. Previews of the new CD have resulted in reviews like, "Listen to Jen Walton once, and her voice will tattoo your brain", -Roger Z. of Working Musician and More Sugar Magazine. Influenced by classics like Ella Fitzgerald and Bing Crosby, rock greats Fleetwood Mac, and modern artists Gwen Stefanie and David Gray, the music is truly a mix.
