It’s about a land that takes up as much space as the horizon itself. It’s the sand under your feet. It’s standing on the lowest spot in North America; Death Valley, California. Looking around, you may realize you are that much closer to the bottom of the world than you previously though. It’s cracked earth, saline water, pickleweed, gastropods, inches of staid but vibrant water that has nowhere else to go. 100 miles to the west stand the tallest peaks on this incomparable land. John lives in the seaport town of San Pedro, CA. Ray’s Last Stand was produced by songwriter and fellow traveler Gil Dabney. This is his first album.
