The Silence,is an original alternative rock band which formed in Rockhampton, Australia in 2003.
Their music is fresh, original and radiates rock. They’re live performances have been described as electrifying and engaging, allowing the crowd to escape for a moment from their every day lives.
They are bursting at the seams with talent so with their determination, ambition and passion this band is the real deal and are in for the long hall.
The Silence released their first EP in 2005 entering it into the music oz awards achieving great success, winning second place with ‘The Jars’ at this national competition. They also were successful with all four songs making the top 40 in the alternative category.
Kicking 2007 off with a BANG! and a new improved line up they have supported Youth Group, Gyroscope, Brindle, Blue Bottle Kiss, The Whats and The Butterfly Effect. At the end of 2007 The Silence won a competition with their new killer single "Take" to support Silverchair and Powderfinger.
This year The Silence''s hard work has paid off with the release of their newly anticipated EP ''Kill Joy Crush'' which features five kick ass tracks. As for the music, the silence delivers a high energy, dynamic performance, producing an over all sound that makes you want to listen to it all over again.
