Details:
A tired cliché states that "every rose has its thorn." With a steady combination of bitter sweet melodies, infectious rhythm, and lyrics that sting with rip-your-heart-out reality, Rockit Girl''s interpretation seems to be that "every rose is a thorn."

In 1999 Rockit Girl was born to Chicago, a city that shares their penchant for beauty and bite. Gina Crosley formed the power-pop trio as a defiant gesture to show that women in music "could, and would, do it right." Comparisons to Veruca Salt are plentiful. But the Nirvana, The Beatles, and bad 80''s hair bands influenced her sound, while successful Chicago bands that have come before her play the role of muse. According to casual fans and professional critics, it appears that she is on the right track. Centerstage Chicago boasts that Rockit Girl has "found that necessary edge," churning out chords with a confident and often "bad ass quality." While Dean Ramos of the Illinois Entertainer says that Gina has "one of the best voices in modern rock today."

As a novice song-writer, the first six songs that Gina Crosley ever wrote were inked and recorded as Rockit Girl''s aptly named "Lift-Off E.P." That debut album, produced by Louise Post of Veruca Salt, was an instant success and sold out before anyone knew what hit them. Shortly after some touring in support of the record, Gina was asked to join Veruca Salt as their bassist. Not wanting to miss this opportunity, Gina taught herself to play the bass, and put her Rockit dreams on hold. After spending some time writing and recording songs, and even going to California to join Courtney Love''s proposed super-group Bastard, Gina decided it was time to get back to her own band and push Rockit Girl into the spotlight once again.

For almost two years, Gina has been back in Chicago letting her life influence her and her music. Whether it''s break-ups from her past, or new beginnings in her future, Gina takes it all at once and lays down the foundations for a solid album. With the additions of Emily Togni on bass and Chad Romanski (Sarge,The Reputation) behind the drums and John Corcoran on second guitar, the band is poised to take their next major step. Rockit Girl released their first full length L.P. called Bright Lights on Tuesday, September 14th 2004.
