Details:
What is Mine is the follow up CD to Grammy Contender (pop vocal category) debut CD One by One. Co-Produced by Ross Vick and Grammy Winning Engineer Phil York, this concept album was conceived and executed for baby boomers by baby boomers.
Beginning with a clever needle drop to set the mood for the days when the vinyl album was gently placed on the turn table and you had just enough time to sit back and ponder the album cover and lyrics, What is Mine opens with a tribute to John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr: Love is the Way. The journey winds its way through the title track What is Mine which reminds us that what we have is not who we are. Followed by Hunger for You a love song for those who have beaten the national average for length of marriage; What''s Real is a song you''d write if you found your 9 year old watching Jerry Springer; Conundrum a song for those who''s relationship is at a crossroads; Nearly Enough for those of us who''d rather not end up with any regrets; A Long Time for those who are or have dreams of getting their marriage way beyond the national average . . .; All in the Numbers is a cynical if realistic view of the world for those of us who remember 9-11-2001 and 12-7-1941 and how the world changed on those dates; PAE 329 for those who ever wish they''d followed up on that chance meeting out on the road could remember the license plate number but not the state; Complicated Man is a introspection on finding one''s religion and one''s self and not necessarily at the same time; Nothing You Can''t Do is a pick me up for those who think they don''t have any more options; It''s Okay is a jazzy number about keeping a stiff upper lip when the bottom one is quivering; Take Back America throws darts at the right and the left because they think they have all of the answers; Can''t Look Back though based on a soured relationship really is about moving forward through life and this collection ends with a final reminder that Love is the Way and if you listen long enough you''ll hear the record changer lifting the needle off of the vinyl.
It''s all done with superb vocals and musicianship provided by Ron Diulio on keyboards, Jerry Hancock on bass, Jeff Howe on Drums, Danny Hubbard on Guitars and featuring Sam Swank with amazing lead parts and solos. Karen Vick Cavazos, Pat Vick and songwriter Ross Vick provide the tight vocal harmonies and lead vocal work. It''s a good tight package with wall to wall sound. Good music and stories for those of us who still get up and face life with a wink and a nod.
