Details:
From the backyard of every sensitive, self-conscious teenage girl grown up in the Midwest suburbs in the seventies comes the collective whisper of imagination, yearning, secret scars, loves lost, and joyous revelations. Sandra Knight''s,The Deep End is a collection of songs that has empathically heard such a whisper and given it a voice.

As a songwriter Sandra Knight is a compelling and compassionate force. She willingly risks personal transparency, and intimacy in pursuit of authentic creative expression. She is not a songwriter that seeks to vainly express her own experience in hopes of acclaim, rather she is one of the rare kind that endeavors to connect to the universal experience; thereby sharing in the gift of kinship and human understanding through music.

Within Sandra''s style you will hear the echoes of the seventies folk era, reminiscent of Janis Ian, Cat Stevens, Carol King and Laura Nyro. The indelible markings of a generation of idealists and dreamers of which she belongs. However, do not be complacently seduced by the lyrical accessibility of her songs, upon closer scrutiny you will find rich analogies, layered metaphors, liberal interpretation of phrases, and you will happily find every word beautifully detailed in the disc''s insert. Perhaps this is the reason Sandra''s music appeals to a vastly diverse audience. As you wade into The Deep End, you may stay in the relatively shallow end, or you may choose to get wet as you plumb the depths of understanding!

Sandra''s voice and guitar deliver the impact and essence of each cut with irresistible melodies that take advantage of her expansive and rich vocal range. The listener will, no doubt, be unsurprised to find out that Sandra, in addition to being a songwriter, is also a music therapist. Just her voice alone has been said to be therapy. To further enrich this project, The Deep End was blessed with the creative energies of some very talented St Louis musicians and music therapists to include Maria Carron, MT-BC on additional vocals, Rob Woerther, MT-BC, co-producing and engineering, and John Halloran on percussion.

Sandra has performed in venues from coast to coast and most recently she opened for Melissa Ferrick in Melissa''s first St Louis concert early fall of 2001. Even more recently, Sandra performed for SARK''s book signing and reception at Maryville University, St. Louis, this past spring, and will be playing at SARK''s pajama party in St Louis this coming fall.

One final note. The Deep End contains a "hidden track" that is cleverly disguised as a continuation of the 11th track. The cut is titled "There Is A Hope" which Sandra has dedicated to the victims and survivors of the 9-11 terrorist attacks and to the everlasting hope for world peace. There is no mention of this track anywhere in the cd except to say that the clever observer will notice that the total running time adds up to more than the sum of each individual track time. Thus, significantly dedicated "There Is A Hope" begins at precisely 9 minutes and 11 seconds into the 11th track.

PLUNGE INTO THE DEEP END WITH SANDRA KNIGHT, THE EXPERIENCE WILL BE REFRESHING!
