And so this lovely tale begins
A story of great adventures
Hopefully it will not end
Or at least last until we have dentures.
First, the name. Where the heck did we come up with the name? A quick search on Google turns up a couple of things. Us, some recipes, and school lunch menus. And that is where our name came from. Standing in line for lunch at school one day, the dry erase menu has the item "Salsa Commodity" on it. Pete, a friend of mine started laughing and said "That would be a great band name." It was an omen.
My parents got me my guitar and I started recording, starting with "The Class of 2003." Gunderson heard it and proposed the idea of a band. So we formed the duo called Salsa Commodity. But we had no drummer. Time went on, we graduated high school and started college, and still no drummer. I went away to OU for a semester, disliked it, and came home. Now I had friends at my former high school passing out some of my recordings. One such CD happened to fall into the hands of Josh Grubb. He said "I am a drummer!" and joined the band in January of 2004. Thus Salsa Commodity was a complete band.
Then we found out someone had signed us up for a Battle of the Bands at the local middle school. So we scraped together three practices, finding that we jammed really well together, and rocked hard at the middle school. We had such a blast and had so much stuff thrown at us, we knew this was it. Salsa Commodity was go. And so we continue to write and record music, play shows here and there, and praise God in everything we''re doing for him. We hope this music will be a witness to you, cheer you up when you''re down, make you dance when you''re sad, and give you hope when you''re hopeless.
Salsa Commodity no longer exists. The music continues under the name Strike Four, so please visit us as https://www.tradebit.com You can still buy this CD of course, but this band broke up, and has been reformed into Strike Four.
