An emerging Alt pop/rock band that formed just over a year ago in the city of churches AKA Adelaide Austraila.
From the humble beginnings of the singer/songwriter vein arriving onto the live scene 3 years ago, this blend of ''refreshingly different/suprisingly honest earthy pop'' is on the verge of something great.

With a traditional 4 piece line up, this band has something a little extra than most...3 boys all in the top 2% of the honours class @ uni...the quirky drummer (party trick: playing the bass and drums at the same time!), the cute, laid back bass player and a young Sth African Jimmy-Hendrix-look-alike lead guitarist. Fronted by Miss personality, AKA Susi D on lead vocals/guitar, the occasional piano accordian & songwriting.

Appealing to your adult-contemporary-beer-drinking-fun loving-live-music-heads, this band is gathering a momentum well out of its own control.
Ever wanted to say "I knew about them before they were big?"

This debut release of Salty in acoustic mode is more reflective than rock, but don''t be fooled...this is just the tip of the iceberg, this band is adding so much more street attitude with every new song written.

Salty is currently touring Austraila regionally and nationally, with their sights set on the international market.

Supports include; Sophie B. Hawkins [USA] Ember Swift [Canada] Elixir [Qld] The Velvet Janes [WA] Aurora Jane [NSW] Marie Wilson [VIC] Mel Watson and Susie Keynes (Fruit) Junior and The Audreys [SA]

Artistic influences include;
Annie Lennox, Ben Lee, Stereophonics & Garbage

THE SALTY STORY
Where do you start? Well, how about backwards...Susi started recording in the studio almost the same time she started perfoming her songs live. Releasing her 1st demo early - there''s a free download on the website of one of those songs, she quickly earnt herself the reputation of one of the hardest working musicians around Adelaide.
Appearing regularly in the paper and street press, people couldn''t avoid seeing her name somewhere!
Still in the studio, working on an album and EP at the same time, she went about trying to define the sound she wanted from a full band.
In the mean time, the EP was finished and released aug 04 true to the solo sound.

Susi''s first big break came from the recommendation from a number of sources to support a big name Australian act ''Elixir'' (with 2 members from the award winning ''George'').
From there, supports just started flowing in with from all directions.

Just recently, Susi popped down to the local SOPHIE B HAWKINS show in Adelaide (because she couldn''t get that ''damn I wish I was your lover'' song out of her head from the 90''s). She met her manager and after a few brief conversations, she handed over her EP and left it there.
A phone call the next morning revealed that they loved her EP and could she get to Katoomba that evening? which was humanly impossible!
Arrangements were then made for Susi to support Sophie @ Tilley''s Divine Cafe in Canberra - one of the finest venues in Australia.

So here she was a week later, guitar in one hand, overnight bag in the other, heading off to support Sophie B in a sold out show in Canberra!
Things don''t get more surreal than this! The night went very quickly, and the 3 hours sleep made her miss her flight by 2 minutes...spending all her profit from the night before on another ticket out of there.
But some things are worth more than money, and she left there with a ''damn I wish I was your lover'' tank top and a massive grin on her face!

So there you have it, from the humble beginnings of a 4 year old grooving to ABBA and dreaming of the day she''d be just like them!?

The band formed a year ago and quickly developed into its own distinctive sound, so much so that Susi decided that they needed to release the live band sound on the next album rather than the finished studio version.

NOTE FROM SUSI
I''ve just been in the studio mixing the live recording we took the other week and I''ve got butterflies in my stomach just listening to it! All I can say is....Something great is happening, keep your ears to the ground :)
