Born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, Samori''s musical beginnings start like so many musical messiahs - in the church. Samori sang and played drums in the church choir and was deeply involved in music education programs throughout primary, middle and high school.
Samori fell in love with hip-hop fifteen years ago. He spent years fine-tuning his use of words and delivery before moving into the production arena more than eight years ago.
One fall afternoon in 1997, Samori jumped on a Greyhound bus headed for the East Coast and, as they say, the rest is history. He has collaborated with many artists in Philadelphia, New Jersey, New York, and Delaware to name a few. He has produced and engineered nearly a dozen urban music CDs.
"The Streets Of Babylon" has garnered many accolades including more than five weeks at the #1 spot on the legendary, now defunct, indie music site https://www.tradebit.com. Samori also was featured on Philly''s number one hip-hop radio show, Power 99 FM''s "Mike Dred and Pooch Man", with a single from "The Streets Of Babylon".
Samori''s style has been likened to an insightful philosopher fused with the lyrical prowess of a street-groomed emcee. His chameleon-like range has allowed him to feature on a number of live and recorded projects from hip-hop to r&b to spoken word to jazz. His midwest upbringing and initial love of southern emcee styles, together with his East Coast cipher schooling and early influences of Tupac have crafted Samori into one of the most versatile, profound lyricists of today.
