Singer, guitarist, and songwriter Scott Weiss abandoned the Los Angeles music scene in July of 2003 for his hometown of Seattle after 5 years spent navigating the sea of creativity that is the City of Angels. "I moved out to LA after college and worked in film and TV production, studied theater, dabbled in writing. But music was always my greatest passion..."
Since his return to the Northwest, Scott has been holed up in the studio hard at work on a solo set of material (while not out gigging), and the fruits of his labors are revealed on the self financed and released "Roots." Backed by competent Seattle scensters and produced by local studio owner/producer/ engineer Shawn Simmons at the Phantom Center in Seattle, "Roots" represents Scott''s musical evolution over the past 10 years. The different styles and textures of Scott''s personal musical tastes shine brightly through on this EP, from the African percussion inspired rhythms of "Grey is Blue" to the upbeat rock groove of "So Far" and alternative folk-rock of "Promises" and "Let Me Love Again."
Currently Scott is gigging solo and/or with musical guests in and around Seattle, supporting the work on "Roots."
