SHERRY JONES BIO

SHERRY LEA JONES started her musical career at the age of six, singing to the neighborhood kids and the animals on her uncle''s farm. Spurred on by their appreciation, she widened her arena and began piano and voice lessons, playing and singing in recitals and local children''s theater. She honed her harmonies singing in the church choir and spent her teen years singing all styles from folk to pop to rock in local groups and doing weddings and casuals . She even did a stint in the musical variety revue at California''s First Theatre in Monterey, her home town. Her love of music and skill at creative writing made it a natural for the singer who began writing poetry as a young girl to segue into songwriting.

Since moving to Sonoma County to attend SSU, where she sang in the chorus and vocal jazz ensemble, she has been in demand as a vocalist with local groups and choirs, performing at venues like the Luther Burbank Center and the Kate Wolf Festival. In a review of her performance at the SCMA Women''s Music Showcase in the Press Democrat, the reviewer wrote,"Jones possesses an amazing voice, deep and soothing." Of her music, one fan wrote,"Great lyrics- we are ready for this... more love and light in songs."

Over the last 20 years, she has continued writing songs, performing and collaborating with other songwriters. In October 2003 she released the "River of Love" CD with the Sherry Jones Band. She is currently recording two more CDs. "Woman''s Wisdom" is planned for release in August 2005 and "In the Company of Angels" in January 2006.

The Sherry Jones Band came together in 1998 through what Sherry believes was "divine intervention". The band has performed at various venues in Sonoma County such as The Apple Blossom Festival, the Gravenstein Apple Fair, and New College of Santa Rosa. This eclectic blend of folk/rock, blues, gospel, country & pop--what Sherry calls "conscious music", has been described as "Indigo Girls meets Sweet Honey in the Rock meets Bonnie Raitt".
