Laura Sippola is a pianist and a singer/songwriter based in Helsinki, Finland.
Her songs, piano playing and singing are all combined into one whole entity with a unique sound. As a vivid and an emotional character she draws her inspiration from human experiences and all that life brings ahead, and translates them into a song from upbeat rhetorical to slower breath-taking ballads. She is eager for life, meeting new people and different cultures.
Beeing a bandleader can be a beautiful task when having such a wonderful musicians to play with. Joonatan Rautio (sax), Peter Engberg (gtr), Tuure koski (bass) and Marko Timonen (drs) are front line jazz musicians in Finland. Also Jaska Lukkarinen (drs, better known from the Finnish band "Värttinä" after Marko Timonen left his place in it), Mikko Karjalainen (tp), Ilmari Pohjola (tb), Martta Haveri (kantele) and Miira Sippola (singing beautiful backing vocals on the last tune "Sinua Kaipaamaan") give their great input on the record. Hanna Kangasniemi creates a beautiful baroque part with her recorders on the tune "Jokin Osa Musta (tuli sun myötä takaisin)".
