Sid has provided some comments on each track below!
Track 1 - Life and Breath - This cut is an introduction to the album with double tracked and down-tuned 12 and 6 string acoustics. I think of this composition as a musical representation of a bright sunny day. The power chord at the end sets you up for the next, heavier track on the CD.
Track 2 - Zoned Out - This cut is sort of a kinder and gentler shred-fest in the vein of Vai and Satriani. The name comes from the Tone Zone pickup in this strat.
Track 3 - Lo Blow - A lo-fi hip-hop drum loop with a Jeff Beck inspired strat riff is what this one is all about. The tremolo on the amp is also used, which led to the original title of "tremolo blow". It''s cool and funky, and the recurring feedback gives it a harder edge.
Track 4 - It Was Only A Dream - A reverb/delay drenched riff with a very lyrical lead part. This cut represents those dreams we have sometimes about a beautiful time or place in our past or future. Wouldn''t it be great it those dreams came true?
Track 5 - You and Me - A club inspired drum loop with a rock/metal guitar riff driving the rhythm. The solo guitar pleads, cries, and then screams for attention.
Track 6 - Silent Letter - An all acoustic cut of 6 and 12 string guitars. The melody is strong, as this was originally written with lyrics. I liked it better as an instrumental, and since it lost it''s lyrics I call it silent letter.
Track 7 - Worlds Collide - A collision of distorted electric guitars and mellow acoustics on a distorted drum track that mirrors the conflicts in our world today. There are some interesting harmonics and slide parts throughout the track.
Track 8 - Meet Me On The Other Side - Think about crossing a beautiful valley to meet your lover on the other side. It''s ... beautiful, isn''t it?
Track 9 - Remember - One acoustic 6 string Martin. Sometimes I look back and think about all the times in my life. It''s not sad, but it''s not all happy either. Its life, and you just got to play the game....
Track 10 - Jonah - Two down-tuned RG560 Ibanez electrics create a volley of whale-speak somewhere out in the ocean. Put on the headphones and close your eyes...cool, huh?
