In an eerie place in the year of 1971, Cell was introduced to the world.
Life began on the South side of Chicago, and later to the outskirts of the city.
She was able to see life from both sides of the coin.
Though different surroundings, the struggles of people living in both areas were the same.
Cell soon immersed herself in activities that took her to another place.
At the young age of four, she began playing her brother’s guitar, and banging out tunes on her uncle’s piano.
She began writing poetry when she was in first grade.
It was not long before the poems became legendary within her family.
They were given as gifts to be cherished forever.
Cell’s mother knew then that her daughter’s claim to fame would truly be.
It was not long before Cell discovered she could combine her two loves…music and poetry.
She started merging her poems into the melodies in her mind.
It was then, she knew that her music was important, and it should be heard.
This was her message and her voice in the world.
In her world, Cell made it through her 20s and into her 30s. Cell has lived, learned, loved, lost, and endured.
Her music has evolved into a mature and soulful sound. She’s been labeled to belong in more than one musical category, or genre.
Cell’s music could very easily fit into: Rock, Folk, Indie. Probably others, but you get the point.
Her lyrics explore the foundations of life as she sees it; love and everything in between.
The lyrics are inspired by the experiences in her life, both good and bad.
With her sultry voice, she can lure listeners into her world with her words.
It is in the music that transfers her pain, and her resilience can be felt, and the song moves through the pain to a brighter day.
Cell has resided in Atlanta, Georgia for several years.
However, because of the huge local music scene, she remains a silent gem.
She has a one of a kind personality.
Confident, yet approachable, she puts anyone who talks to her at great ease.
She is an old soul.
She still believes in flowers on the first date, walks through the park, and a nice dinner…perhaps candlelight.
Cell has spent the last several years adjusting to an additional/part-time/full-time career: She is a mother.
Before that, she took a few years to learn to love herself, for exactly who she is.
That discovery continues to bless her as she guides her daughter into adulthood.
