My name is Karen Richards and singing is my passion, my self-healing, and my daily creative expression of joy and mystery.
I registered my business, "Shorelines Canada", in 2001 and began vocal toning to long-term care residents in varying stages of health. I am currently expanding my life experience to include labouring women, newborns and children.
My earliest childhood memories take me back to a swing on a huge, old, Texas oak tree. I spent many hours sitting and singing on that swing gazing up through the leaves and the open sky. When I was five, I was living with my grandparents due to my mother''s serious auto accident. Every Sunday morning my grandmother drove us to a local Southern Baptist church. Sitting and listening to the choir sing I remember feeling thrilled and how I too wanted to be a part of those wonderful sounds.
My grandfather was of Cherokee and Choctaw aboriginal ancestry. Over the years I have opened up to my heritage with an awe and reverence reflected in how I feel for the earth and all creatures. The wondrous Great Spirit and sounds of the drums, dancing and chants are a deep part of my soul.
My spirit soared and Lotus Prime emerged.
