This debut Cd from this NYC porn rock outfit is one of the most offensive, politically incorrect collections of songs that I''ve ever heard. And please remember it takes a lot to offend me. So congrats go out to the band.
Musically, Skum is top notch. They have the classic NYC Glam-sound, with campy two minute, hook infectious, high energy, extremely offensive and perverted love songs for the sexually deranged. And to make things even more appealing, vocalist Fern Burns is a hot babe with a powerful set of pipes. She puts in a lot of hot funk in the junk.
Some of the least offensive song titles of the 11 on the CD are "I Wish I Had a Cock," "Man Bitch," and "Pussy Power." And you should see the other titles, (mentioned with clever editing) like the very romantic "I Lost My A**hole Cherry to a Schnauzer Named Jerry," to name one. Yes, no need for innuendo, they say what they mean and certainly don''t hold back. Frank Zappa would be so proud.
The only problem with this CD is that these songs are all so damn catchy. If you''re not careful, you''ll be absentmindedly singing some of their songs at the most inappropriate times, like at the water cooler at work. You''re fired freak!!!

Skum are the audio equivalent of a geriatric heart attack - to clarify; To Kill 1-3 Old People follow these simple instructions: Step 1 - Plug your chosen old human being into luscious Sennheiser headphones (boy with the kind of product placement - I should get mine for free): Step 2 - insert Skum CD selecting some choice songs that would most personally offend the recipients (i.e. a proud Schnauzer owner). Step 3 - run away, listen for thuds, and then when police find the bodies, claim ignorance; dispose of the CD in an environmentally friendly way.
This is probably, nay! definitely THE most offensive set of glam/punk rock songs currently circulating. Thankfully they are just as humorous, in both delivery and lyrical content as they are shocking. Lines like; ''Don''t touch me you fucking loser...man bitch...fix me a sandwich you cunt!'' from the domination influenced ''Man Bitch'' - are delivered marvelously by the talented female vocalist as she conjures up an array of voices and styles, most notable in; ''Pussy Power'' an ode to that most powerful of natural energy producers; the vagina.
The music never gets too ahead of itself and remains a simplistic yet affective bed for the vocals to languish upon, at least, that is before they splatter man butter on the covers and defecate on the pillow. The line ''...you can grate it...my easy cheesy pussy'' from ''Easy Cheesy Pussy'' emanates from a song that could put you off eating any form of dairy product for life - whereas ''I Wish I Had A Cock'' shows the charming vocalist exploring the possibilities of owning a very male appendage.
''Big Black Cock'' is fairly self explanatory and represents a celebration of the ever hallowed black man''s penis. With the melodic, energetic and surprisingly inoffensive ''Pussy Power'' offering a mid album song you will keep venturing back to again and again - not to mention the wonderfully twisted; ''I Lost My Asshole Cherry...To A Schnauzer Named Jerry'' clocking in as one of the more disturbing forays on offer.
In the end however despite the occasional throwaway nature of this kind of music - Skum produce very hook laden, hilariously structured, written and performed songs that will make just about any man inhabiting the world giggle like a school boy (unless they are one...and then...presumably giggle like themselves) plus, if they have chosen correctly ther wives and girlfriend''s will be in stitches as well. In other words - any dirty minded rock fan should own this and if you don''t have vocalist Fern Burns crooning from your speakers within the month - she will personally come after you for a sandwich you cunts!
