This CD is an instrumental effort of traditional favorites and cool original blues from the founder of “The Mountain Park Old Time Band”, Johnny Gentry. Johnny plays guitar, fiddle, dobro, banjo, and bass on many of the tracks. Johnny’s wife Nancy and son Robbie assisted with the bass, banjo, and guitar.
This CD was a year long in the recording and production and is a tasteful blend from one of North Carolina’s best Old-Time musicians. From the bluesy soul of the original “Big Leg Blues” to the unique instrumental version of George Gershwin’s “Summertime” to the sultry singing of the dobro in “Banks of the New River”, this CD will give appreciative listeners many hours of enjoyment.
