Pet Rocks is a collection of songs that explores the idea of Planet Earth as a shared environment.
It begins with “Lucille (My Pet Rock)” which deals with pets, global warming, floods, sexploitation, and the results of rejecting fundamental new age truths. Next is “5''Till The Break Of Day” which is about sleeping outdoors. “Earth People Rock” is sung by a visiting extra-terrestrial who wants to dig our scene. “Hec Dies”, meaning ''This Day'', is organum in Perotinus style written in the 13th century by an anonymous composer. “Duwamish Dock” is a heartfelt lament about pollution, abuse and ownership. “Amphibians” are very sensitive and not to be ignored. “Sticks and Rocks” a post rock er-hu jam, takes us on a playful romp through the animal kingdom. “We''re The Earthlings” comes as a plea to those opposed to evolution, transcendence and peace. “H2O Blues” it’s our water! The survivors have a new anthem with “Survival”. “As I Am Going 108,000kmh” Relax and enjoy a smooth traditional earth groove… “No One Here” is a song about not knowing what is causing the mysterious deaths. And finally we end with “Welcome To Whatever” an expression of contemporary feelings of missed eternity, apathy and powerlessness.
